What the park charges on top
The rate above buys you a bed. Lower Zambezi National Park charges its own entry fee for every day you are inside. Here is what that adds up to.

Three nights means three days inside, so two adults sharing one vehicle pay $225 in park fees before anyone pays for a bed.
Camps inside the park bundle a bed-night levy and community fee on top, which together run $85 to $120 per person per night. That is the number that lands on your invoice, not the gate fee.

Indicative 2026 rates from operators' own rate cards, gathered July 2026. Always confirm with the lodge. Two things shift the real comparison here. First, camps inside the park add $85 to $120 per person per night in bundled park and conservation fees, and most quote that separately. Second, camps in the Chiawa game management area carry no national park entry fee at all unless you cross into the park, which is why a GMA bed can work out far cheaper than the headline rate suggests.
Questions about Amanzi
Is Amanzi good for families?
Yes, if you book exclusive use. On a standard booking children must be 12 or older, but on an exclusive-use booking, which is how Amanzi is mostly sold, children of all ages are welcome under strict parental supervision. Guided bush walks are still not permitted for children under 12.
What does the rate at Amanzi include?
The rate covers accommodation, all meals, all local beverages, two activities a day, laundry, wifi and transfers from both Kulefu and Jeki airstrips. National park fees of $100 per person per night and fishing permits at $30 per person per day are added separately. The camp issues its own rate card as a download rather than quoting a headline figure online.
Can you book Amanzi for just our group?
Yes, that is how the camp is mostly sold. With only four suites, two king and two queen, Amanzi prices sole use on a sliding scale for one to four, five to six, or seven to eight guests, rather than selling beds individually. Minimum stay is two nights.
Can you self-drive to Amanzi?
No self-drive route is published. Amanzi is reached by air, with transfers included from both Kulefu and Jeki airstrips, and sits in the park's remote eastern sector, deeper in than its sister camp Anabezi.
