A canoeing park where the real daily cost is nothing like the headline park fee. We publish both.
What this site is
This guide is independent of every camp on the river. It exists because the gap between the headline park fee and what you actually pay is larger here than anywhere else in Zambia, and nobody explains it.
How we arrive at the real cost
Park fees come from the DNPW schedule itself rather than from copied operator pages, and the fees page shows when we last checked it. That matters here: in July 2026 the published tariff was still headed 2025.
Where no rate is published, we point you at who to ask. There is no published lion, leopard or wild dog estimate for this park, so what follows is measured per-trip sighting rates. We could not isolate the standalone conservation levy, could not verify gate payment methods, and could not find a bookable public campsite inside the park, and each of those gaps is stated on the relevant page.
We also correct the errors we can prove. The closed fishing season on this river runs 1 December to the end of February, which is the opposite of what most safari sites claim. The park is not a World Heritage Site, that is Mana Pools across the river. The bird total is 378, not over 400. And the copper mine story is neither the approved version nor the cancelled version that gets repeated.
